Extract of Letter from W7CKT Feb 10, 1949
"W7EPS and W7JVB at Yakima and W7BBK at Ritsville and myself (W7CKT) started talking about organizing a Net in December of 1947…We originally figured if we could get 25 stations around the State we would be doing good. W7JPX, then Phone Activities Manager said it had been tried several times before, but nothing ever came of it due to lack of interest. However, we had his blessings…In a couple of months we had 22 members, many of whom are still with us (1949). In another couple of months we has over 50 and it kept on growing until at one time we had 100 stations checking in from time to time. For the various fairs and celebrations around the State we have handled as many as 300 messages, and during the Oregon flood we were on night and day for five days for about five days…Norm, W7LFA , in Anacortes has a KW now and has relieved me of most of the jobs of running the Net including bringing out the PARASITE..)
